She said someone was listening to Silent Shout by the Knife. So she walked up to the Dj and asked what the song was. Allison Cara Tolman (born April 2 in 1985) is an American actor. Best known as Molly Solverson from the FX television series Fargo during its initial season, she has received nominations for Emmys and Golden Globes. Tolman is the eldest of three siblings, with two brothers older than her. When she was only two months old, her family moved to England in the United Kingdom, where they lived for 4 years. She then spent five more year in Oklahoma before moving on into Sugar Land. In the Fort Bend Community Theatre, she started taking acting classes when she was 10 years old. She was a student at Clements High School, graduating in 2000. Baylor University gave her a diploma in Bachelor of Fine Arts, Theatre Performance. Following her graduation in 2007, she moved to Dallas in the United States where she established The Second Thought Theatre. Following her move to Chicago to attend The Second City Training Center In 2009, she returned to Illinois to continue her studies in 2009. Tolman made her debut in 2014. She starred on the FX crime comedy Fargo's first season. Fargo was based on Coen Brothers' 1996 film of the same name. It starred Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman alongside Bob Odenkirk. Tolman was praised for her performance as Minnesota police officer Molly Solverson, with Vanity Fair saying the following "calmly and certainly took over the whole performance". Tolman was awarded the Critics' Choice Television Award as Best Supporting Actress for a Movie/Miniseries, and was also nominated for Best Actress at both the Emmy Awards & Golden Globes for her role. In the same year it was revealed that Tolman will have a guest appearance on the Mindy project on the show as Abby Berman who is a romantic author. In 2015, Tolman was a supporting character in Michael Dougherty's comedy-horror film Krampus. Tolman's breakthrough role in the film as Fargo was the reason she decided to leave numerous supporting roles, including the roles of mothers as well as best friend and wife. Tolman was searching for more unconventional roles. Tolman's role on ABC Downward Dog was based upon her role in the Animal Media Group Web Series. Following one season, it was cancelled. Tolman played in ABC's Emergence drama, which debuted on September 24, 2019, but was cancelled by ABC within a year, in May of 2020. despite Tolman tweeting she thought the ratings were "pretty acceptable". She has also appeared as an actor on the NBC show Good Girls.
